2Team Concept pitches

Required Reading:

ScreeningOpportunities-28Dec07.pdf (also listed in a previous session)

Fun stuff (optional):

TheBakeoff-Gladwell-TNY.pdf

Preparation for class:

  1. Be prepared for your 2Team pitch, as described below, and prepared to engage with all the pitches, asking questions and offering input that may improve a concept.
  2. You should be putting together all the parts for your functional mock-up by now, and even testing an initial mock-up and refining it. Remember, the best prototypes come from an ITERATIVE process! Make sure you have a great functional mock-up so that your concept scores well!

Assignment Due (completed by your 2Team):

  1. Finish your concept and functional mock-up (basic prototype). Make exactly 3 slides of your product concept:
    1. Slide 1 should be a refinement of the opportunity you are addressing and a summary of the critical needs of your customers.
    2. Slide 2 should clearly describe your refined product concept.
    3. Slide 3 is a photograph of your mock-up.  See Guidelines for student project photography
  2. Prepare a presentation of your refined concept.
    • You will have exactly 3 minutes, and so please be sure your pitch fits well within that time allotment. Please practice a 2-minute pitch and plan to allow for Q/A and clarifications for 1 minute.
    • You MUST demonstrate the actual physical mock-up of your concept during your pitch.
  3. By 12 noon Tuesday, March 16, upload your presentation file of EXACTLY 3 SLIDES (in pdf landscape format) to the 2Team Concept Pitches assignment folder on webcafe. The file must be under 500kb. All slides must have a header with a descriptive title and the names of both members of your team. If you are not good with deadlines, then hand this in sometime on Monday. We will be making a single deck of all the concepts (like last time).
  4. Print your 3 slides and bring to class to use for voting and to hand in for instructor evaluation.
